"One Rabbit"

While enjoying a treat from her Easter basket, my daughter discovered this interesting tidbit:

Ha!  Now I want to go out, purchase the biggest chocolate bunny I can find, and eat the whole thing.  After all, it's only one serving.

Aside from chocolate, this Easter has been filled with reminders of "every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3).  Christ's sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection pave the way for my freedom.  With eternity secured, I can live now for what truly matters.  My praise can be given to the only One who is worthy.

My pastor spoke this morning about "Five Guys" at the cross.  Judas, though he looked to everyone else to be a Christian, was the one who betrayed Jesus.  Peter denied his Lord.  The two thieves had opposite reactions to Jesus - one rejected Him outright, and the other accepted Jesus.  The final man tugged at my hear the most.  Pilate washed his hands of Jesus, because he couldn't make a decision about Him (Matthew 27:22).  Perhaps there was too much pressure from his job, his family, his culture.  Whatever his reason, his indecision cost him everything.

Lord, protect my heart from Pilate's indecision.  I want to say "yes" to you always.

And thank You that Easter means so much more than just one rabbit.
