What Made My Summer Meaningful
I haven't posted for a long time, and the picture above is my explanation. I was blessed this July to have the opportunity to travel to India with a team from my church to serve there for two weeks. Preparation and fundraising took up my whole summer and more...and God proved Himself faithful as only He can. The picture is of widows we had the chance to show love to. In India they are considered cursed, outcasts with nothing and no one to care for them. But we know Who does care! We had the chance to speak to them, hear them sing, and give each one a sari donated by a widow in our church who has a heart for the Indian people. This was a day I'll never forget. I cried, prayed, and cried some more. It is humbling beyond belief to pray for a sweet lady who has no one else and depends on God for her next breath.
I want to depend on God like that. I need to depend on God like that.
I'll share more as time goes on, and as I process all I did and saw. What does God want me to do with this experience? I'm not sure. I only know I'm not the same person as I was before, and that's a good thing. It wasn't just a trip, as I have no wanderlust and am fine just staying at home, thank you. I could care less about stamps in my passport. I want God to grow my heart to be more like His, to love like He does, and to value what He values. I know He grew me in India....and I am so thankful He chooses to let us be alongside what He is doing, here or there.
What's made your summer meaningful?
