Don't get me wrong - I love Christmas. Nothing could be better than celebrating Christ's birth. And when December hits, I'm all there.
I just wish we could push it back a bit and really focus on Thanksgiving. I'm not ready to feel that giddy rush when I see Christmas decorations in the stores, or hear Christmas music. I don't want to skip over an opportunity to really be attentive to gratefulness. Right now I just want to be thankful.
So when I saw this idea on Ann Voskamp's blog, I was all in.
The beautiful printable leaves from Ann's blog each have a verse focusing on thankfulness. (My only fuss...I wish the print was bigger so my uncooperative eyes could read them without glasses. Sigh.)
Love this verse.
I would never have chosen this one if I'd been selecting the verses, but once I read it I realized it was perfect. How vital to be thankful for Christ's broken body, sacrificed for us. Thank You, Jesus.
I'm praying the next couple of weeks before Thanksgiving will find our hearts attentive to Him, ready to give thanks for all He has done.
"The ungrateful see little of His great love; but the grateful feel their heart is a shore and His love is a sea that never stops coming in.
Only a grateful heart sees God’s great love everywhere." Ann Voskamp
What special things do you do to encourage thankfulness?
